Cervical Spine

Compressed vertebral discs or a degenerated cervical spine can constrict the spiral nerve as shown in the illustration and therefore cause the typical symptoms. The pain radiates along the nape of the neck and the shoulders up to the arms and fingers. Usually the pain is treated with local injections. Surgery is then only necessary if conservative methods do not result in any improvements.
